I live in Wilmington, NC with my husband George. We are blessed to have 3 grown children, all married, and 3 adorable grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
My art is inspired from the world around me - I spend a great deal of time at the beach, on the water, in my garden and always have my camera handy when I travel or go out about town. I am regularly commissioned to do portraits of children, pets and homes, but enjoy painting from nature and wildlife, as well as capturing people living their daily lives or celebrating special events. I work in all mediums and consider myself a lifelong artist (although I worked a full career as a pediatric physical therapist until recently). My work reflects my personality – I am not the type to fit only into one niche and my work reflects that in the various mediums and subjects I choose to paint. I love to learn new things and am extremely gratified when I know that my art is being enjoyed by others.
Area galleries and art shows regularly feature my paintings and in 2007, I was honored to be selected as the artist for the North Carolina Azalea Festival and painted the official poster for that year. Life is too short to not appreciate the beauty around us and art is my language to express my vision of what captures me! I invite you to walk through my online gallery and choose a piece that captures you!
I can't help but be inspired by the coastal area in which I live as well as people, nature and wildlife, travel and special events. I am drawn to everyday life moments and beauty in my surroundings. I am not a static person and neither is my art, always searching out new techniques and mediums.

I have painted in all mediums throughout my life, concentrating in watercolors while my children were young, but returning to oils and acrylics in the past decade. I continue to attend workshops to learn new techniques, like cold wax painting with oils and abstracts, which I find very freeing and enjoyable. I don’t see myself limited to a particular technique – I love color and contrast and try to incorporate this into all of my paintings.
I was honored to be selected to be the 2007 North Carolina Azalea Artist as one of my biggest career highlights. I created a whimsical, parade themed watercolor which incorporated the joy and fun of the festival and included all ages. I enjoy displaying my art in local galleries and art shows and was recently awarded 2nd place in the prestigious 2022 Azalea Art Show and the 2nd place People's Choice award in the Art in the Arboretum Show - both in Wilmington,NC.
I consistently do commissioned work and participate in live plein air events. It has been rewarding to finally be a full time artist, having retired earlier this year from my career as a physical therapist, treating children with disabilities.
