It's Crazy Busy Right Now in the Art World

Things are heating up in the art world - spring brings the onset of art shows and a new zest for painting in the new year!  I wanted to share some of the things I've been working on and list upcoming shows and galleries where you can see my art displayed in the near future.  The feature piece above is titled "Patiently Waiting" and is from a photograph I took during our family vacation to Montana in September.  This lake is a part of Glacier National Park and was stunning in the early morning mist.  This watercolor is displayed as one of my 2 entries into the online exhibit of the Water Color Society of North Carolina - go to to view this painting along with the other one I shared in the last newsletter "Sheer Joy".Water+Color Gallery

In the meantime, my work is being displayed in multiple galleries and shows around Wilmington including:

Gallery Citrine

Bellamy Mansion

Aces Gallery  "Getting to Know Us" Show, featuring 25 selected WAA artists

I will soon be posting artwork that has been juried into the Wilmington Art Association's (WAA) Annual Spring Show and other upcoming spring shows.

If you want to see me painting live, there are two plein air painting events in which I will participate:  the first during the annual NC Azalea Festival April 8-10 where I will paint in the gardens on the Cape Fear Garden Tour's Azalea Garden Tour.  This is a beautiful event and will get you excited about spring and inspired about gardening.  Thirteen gardens are featured during the three day tour and I promise they will be spectacular.  Order your tickets online now at   - the profits of which support beautification in our coastal area.  Sales will be online at the website  shown below:                                                                                                                                                                                                                  May be an image of 2 people, flower, outdoors, tree and text

A second “Plein Air” event will be in May – the Wrightsville Beach Invitational Plein Air Paint Out and a live art sale will be held on Mother’s Day at the Harbor Island Garden Club Park – more on that to follow!

I am truly grateful for the support you have shown to me.  Several pieces sold upon me posting them on social media, before I even got them to my website.  I am continuing to do commission work as well. Please let me know if there is anything you are interested in or if you need something special painted just for you.  I am mindful of the unrest in our world and especially the plight of the Ukrainian people in the wake of the Russian invasion.  So many people are suffering right now and I know that as Easter approaches, we are particularly aware of the suffering of our Lord for us.  I pray for peace and revival in our world.  Happy spring and enjoy the warming weather, blooms and new life.
